Who Is Sri Chaitanya Chandra Das

The background of the author is itself worth knowing, because it shapes what the book is and how it reads. Sri Chaitanya Chandra Das completed a BE in Electronics and Telecommunications from MIT Pune in 2004 and worked as a software programmer at Atos and TCS in Mumbai before joining ISKCON Pune full time in 2007. He served as Temple Manager for three years, led book distribution parties in villages across Maharashtra, conducted corporate preaching to youth, and taught Bhakti Shastri to congregation devotees.

He has also written regularly for Back to Godhead magazine and led yatras to dhamas including Vrindavana, Mayapur, and Dwaraka. He currently serves as a pujari at ISKCON NVCC.

This is a devotee who came to bhakti from a completely modern, technical background — and who found in the Vaishnava tradition something that moved him deeply enough to leave a software career and build a life of service. That journey shows in the writing. The poems in Bhakta Mala have the quality of someone writing from genuine conviction, not academic distance.
